Independent Voter Group endorses Robin Kelly for State Treasurer

Commending her as an ethical leader who will cut the corruption tax on Illinois taxpayers, a top independent voter organization is slating Robin Kelly as part of its Good Government ticket.

“Unlike career politicians who heed only the desires of money interests and the politically connected, Robin Kelly has shown a solid commitment to open, honest and participatory government, an ideal we have pursued for over 60 years,” said Alonso Zaragoza, the state chair for the Independent Voters of Illinois – Independent Precinct Organization (IVI-IPO).

WLS - 08/25/2010 Lieutenant governor candidate Sheila Simon and state treasurer nominee Robin Kelly hosted a so-called town hall meeting on women's issues the day before the 90th anniversary of the signing of the 19th Amendment that gave women the right to vote.

"People died for us to have the right to vote and I think we need to honor those people and exercise that right," said Robin Kelly, (D) nominee for treasurer.
